Privacy Policy

You hand Bloom your footage and your voice. Here is exactly what happens to them.

The short version

  • You send Bloom videos, photos, voice notes and messages. It edits them and sends the result back.
  • To do that, your footage, its audio and your messages are shared with the AI services listed below. They process it to produce your edit.
  • The public part of this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you subscribe, Stripe handles the payment and we never see your card details. We do see the email address you give them, and use it only for billing.
  • Your chat history and transcripts are kept until you ask us to delete them. Ask, and we will. See Data deletion for how.

The sections below are the binding version

01

Who we are

Bloom Edits is a video editor you talk to inside Telegram, Discord, iMessage and WhatsApp. This policy covers the Bloom bot on any of them, and this website.

The company behind it, and the one responsible for the data described here in data-protection terms, is AiDev Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong SAR at 2301, 23/F Bayfield Building, 99 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The same company operates UGCBloom, which has its own separate privacy policy covering that product.

02

What you send us

Whatever you put in the chat. In practice that means videos and photos, voice notes, audio and music files, links you paste for us to fetch, and the text of your messages.

Your video and audio are transcribed, so a written record of everything spoken in your footage, including your voice notes, is stored alongside the project.

03

What we record about you

Your platform account identifier and display name on Telegram, Discord, iMessage or WhatsApp, the channel or chat the conversation happens in, and the language your app reports. On WhatsApp that identifier is your phone number. Your original filenames are kept with the project.

We also keep a working record of each edit: the edit timeline and its undo history, the captions produced from your speech, notes on how you like your videos made (so later edits match), what each tool did and what it cost us to run, and error reports when something breaks.

04

Why we are allowed to

We process what you send because we need it to do the thing you asked for. You cannot get an edited video back without us handling the footage, the audio and the instruction. That is our contract with you.

We keep the operational records, including what each tool did, what it cost, and what broke, because we have a legitimate interest in running the service, keeping it working, and stopping abuse. Where the law in your country requires your consent instead, we ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your data.

05

What we never collect

We never see or store your card details. Those go straight to Stripe on their own hosted page. We don't ask for your phone number or postal address, and we don't record your IP address.

One thing we do end up with: if you subscribe, you give Stripe an email address, and we can see it. We use it for billing and nothing else: no marketing, no newsletter, no passing it on. If you never subscribe, we never have an email address for you at all.

This website sets no cookies on any public page, runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from our own domain. There is nothing here that follows you around. The only cookie the site can set is a login cookie on our internal admin area, which is not something you can reach.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not publish your videos anywhere. Nothing you send is posted publicly by Bloom.

06

Who else processes it

Bloom is built on other companies' AI services. To make your edit, your content is sent to them for processing. They act on our instructions, and each has its own privacy terms and its own retention practices, which we do not control.

AI editing models

Understanding your footage and deciding the edit

Your conversation with Bloom, transcripts, still frames from your video, short video clips, and audio that contains your voice.

Speech-to-text providers

Turning speech into captions

The audio track of every video you ingest, and every voice note you send.

Generative video and image providers

Effects that create new footage, such as animating a still, restyling a clip, removing an object, or upscaling

Frames from your video, or a short clip of it, but only when you ask for one of those effects.

Link-fetching providers

Downloading a video you linked to

The URL you pasted. None of your own footage.

Cloud hosting and storage providers

Running Bloom and holding its data

Everything described above, at rest and while it is being edited.

Telegram, Discord, iMessage and WhatsApp

Where you talk to Bloom

Your original uploads stay on their servers and we fetch them when needed. Their own privacy policies apply to your account there. iMessage conversations reach us through a messaging provider that carries them on Apple's behalf, and WhatsApp conversations through Twilio, which carries them on Meta's.

We have named the categories rather than the individual companies, because which providers we use changes as better ones appear. If you want the current named list, email us and we will send it.

07

Where it is processed

We are a Hong Kong company, our servers and database are in the United States, and the providers above operate internationally. Wherever you are, your data is transferred out of your own country to be processed. If you are in the UK or EEA, that includes outside those. We rely on the safeguards in our agreements with each provider to protect it in transit and at rest.

08

How long we keep it

Messages, transcripts, timelines and style preferences

Kept until you ask us to delete them. There is no automatic expiry.

Files while an edit is running

Deleted from the working machine within about 6 hours.

Preview clips

Deleted after 3 days.

Download links for finished videos

The link and the file behind it are deleted after 7 days.

Generated clips, cutouts and converted source video

Kept in our storage until you ask us to delete them.

Starting a new project does not erase the old one. Your earlier projects stay in your history so you can go back to them. To actually remove something, ask us.

09

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, all of it or a single project. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict that use.

Email caleb@ugcbloom.team from an account you can be reached at, and tell us your username on the platform you use so we can find your data. You can also just ask Bloom in the chat. We will respond within 30 days. Data deletion walks through exactly what happens.

Deleting your data removes your projects, your transcripts, your chat history with Bloom, the files we hold for you, and the notes on how you like your videos made. It cannot be undone, and Bloom will not remember any of it afterwards. If you come back, you start fresh.

Two things survive, and we would rather say so than have you find out. We keep the record of payments you made, for as long as tax and accounting law requires; those records no longer name you in our systems. And copies already sent to the providers above are governed by their retention schedules. We will pass a deletion request on where a provider supports it, but we cannot reach into their systems ourselves.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to a regulator: in Hong Kong that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, and if you are in the UK or EEA you may instead complain to your own national data-protection authority.

10

Security

Access to the database and to stored media is restricted to Bloom's own systems and to administrators. Our admin dashboard is behind a Google sign-in limited to a named list of people, and access can be revoked immediately. Your messages, transcripts and the notes on how you like your videos made are encrypted where they are stored. Download links for finished videos are unguessable and expire. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send Bloom footage containing information you could not bear to have exposed.

11

If something goes wrong

If your data is exposed in a way that is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay, and within 72 hours of becoming aware where the law requires it. We will say what happened, what was affected, and what we are doing about it.

12

Children

Bloom is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Each chat platform sets its own minimum age as well. If you believe someone under 18 has used Bloom, email us and we will delete the account and its data.

13

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects what happens to your data, Bloom will tell you in the chat.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your data: caleb@ugcbloom.team. You can also just ask Bloom in the chat and we will pick it up.
